his morning, the last boats for this year left Puerto Juarez for our amazing Whale Shark Adventure. But that does not mean that all the Whale Sharks are leaving the area around Isla Holbox right now. Some will stay there for a few more months, others already left in different directions on their search for food. This means that the Whale Shark season from May to September is not determined by the Whale Sharks but by the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP). In order to protect the Whale Sharks, the CONANP doesn’t give permission for this area to any tour operator from September to May.
As an ecological tour operator, we would furthermore like to inform you that it is very important to us to operate our tours in a highly sustainable way. That means for example that we only take small groups on our Whale Shark Adventure in order to keep the impact on the Whale Shark as low as possible and to provide you as much personal attendance as you need to enjoy this amazing experience.
