After meeting the group in Campeche we continued our trip to Chiapas, one of the most amazing and beautiful Mexico´s States. The first stop was Palenque, where the Maya´s wonder still remains. Once you´ve climbed the pyramids you should not forget your camera to take a picture of this wonderful view. To recover our energies we took a break at Misol-ha. Under the overhang a trail leads to the far side and a small cave that goes into the mountain about 35 meters to a waterfall inside the cave. Do you dare to swim in the darkness?
In the evening we enjoyed a nice dinner at Panchan’s Restaurant. It has a bohemian environment with live music and you can try some salsa lessons.
Next parade… Agua Azul Waterfalls s’il vous plaît! Swimming in the blue water, taking a bath and eating the famous empanadas at a very unbelievable price made us such a relaxing day at this Federal Protected Forest located just 69 km from Palenque.
There are many ways to know San Cristobal de las Casas. A city tour in the night could be one of the best ideas to drink a cup of coffee or an organic hot chocolate. You can find several restaurants and coffee shops on the pedestrian 20th November Street.
An exciting tour is a horse ride from San Cristóbal to San Juan Chamula. Among the forest, river and beautiful landscapes we arrived to a very interesting village. It seems to be back in the time, but is also a mystic place. The healing and request to the Shamans are worth watching to see in the main Chruch. After that go shopping is one of the best activities to do.
